Smith Eilers was a proud sponsor of the Florida Messenger Association's Annual Winter Conference 2024. In addition to sponsoring the event, Associate Taylor Dana and Partner David Smith were in attendance. David Smith provided a presentation on the value of proper terms and conditions of service for final mile delivery companies and means and methods for demonstrating binding adoption of them by customers utilizing incorporation, digital acceptance, and electronic signatures, and outlining how the law treats each. The firm also lead education breakout sessions about the recent Department of Labor Final Rule on Independent Contractor classification.
From the golf tournament, through casino night, and various breakout sessions, the members of our team in attendance thoroughly enjoyed participating in this year’s conference. We would like to thank the FMA Board, and in particular outgoing president Andy Newitt and incoming President Rebecca Massicotte. Further, we would like to thank all of the attendees for their wonderful questions during our sessions, and for the enjoyable visits to our booth.
We look forward to participating again next year, and in the interim, we are excited to have Partners David Smith and William Eilers attend and sponsor the Customized Logistics and Delivery Conference later this month. We hope to see you there.
